Haiti is home to over 9 Million people, of which 80% live in extreme poverty. Clean water is the #1 need and one of the hardest thing to come by. Majority of people are getting their water form polluted sources such as rivers and streams. Among the major problems in Haiti regarding water, is broken hand pumps. It is estimated that 7 in 10 wells are broken and need consistent repair. We have worked in Haiti since 2012 and have helped to bring clean water to thousands of people and continue to do our work there year after year. Our program is very tight and operates extremely efficient given the circumstances. Currently we are continuing our work of repairing and maintaining wells within the surrounding villages of Port Au Prince, the capital of Haiti. Money donated supports our local staff who has been trained in well repair and ensures that our work in Haiti continues to operate smoothly.
